March 28, 2009

So this is still just another test post trying to wrap up all the tricks to pretty formating that I have discovred so far.

This picture was taken from just north of the ClubMed diving dock.

I’m still wondering if there is a way to post remotely to the blog (using email or windows mobile app)

2nd Post: Grace Bay 1988

March 26, 2009

For my second post I’m trying to change the font. Since the sun is out here in California, and I’m not at a beach, I thought I’d post another old beach photo.

Notice the lack of big hotels along this gorgeous stretch of pristine beach. Also note that water skiing was allowed back in those days.

So I found just surrond the whole post with
<div style="font:normal normal 100% Georgia, Serif;text-align: left">
</div>

Also add
<p style="text-indent:2em;"> to each paragraph

With the coming of spring my thoughts turn once again toward a far off beach. I wish I was going to be on one soon but will settle with a picture from many years ago.

DVD JACKET_P images

November 30, 2007

With a little surfing on the web I discovered how to create DVD jacket images.

This basically entails creating three images
720×480 176×112 96×64
that are converted into NTSC mpeg 2 movies named
J00___5L.MP2 J00___5M.MP2 J00___5S.MP2.

These images must then be placed in a directory JACKET_P under the top level DVD file structure.(next to VIDEO_TS, etc.)

So I created a script mkjacket_p.sh that creates these files from an passed image parameter. Optionally PAL files can be created in the variable PAL is set.
